If you would like to assist the Charleston County Volunteer Rescue Squad to continue to serve the citizens of Charleston County and the Low Country there are several ways you can help, directly and indirectly.  The Rescue Squad is a 501-C-3 organization and all donations are tax deductible, however you choose to help.

Although we do receive funding from Charleston County Government, most of that money goes toward insurance for our equipment and our volunteers, operating expenses such as fuel and repairs of our equipment, funding for communications equipment and to pay utilities.  Only about 10% of our County funding goes toward capital expenses such as protective equipment for our volunteer and replacement equipment for rescue missions.  The remainder of our purchases, come for fund raising and donations from our supporters, such as Rescue 8 (at a cost of almost $300,000 of which Charleston County paid about $70,000), the Airboat, and the building of the new Rescue Squad Headquarters.

Although the United Way will not allow Charleston County Rescue Squad to become a Partner, as they have with other Rescue Organizations.  However, if you direct you donation on the United Way form to the Charleston County Rescue Squad we will receive a portion of the donate you have directed to the Squad.

The Charleston County Rescue Squad gratefully excepts cash donations.  If you would like to help us continue and improve our service to the community please feel free to mail us a check, no cash please.
