National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS) Training for Emergency Operations Center Staff
Not sure what training/testing you're required to take to be in compliance with federal NIMS requirements? The following list outlines what training is required by September 30, 2006 by position:
1) Entry Level (all disaster response and recovery, support, and volunteer personnel; i.e., citizen
information staff, public works employees, etc.)
Requirements:
FEMA IS-700: “NIMS. An Introduction”
ICS-100: “Introduction to ICS”
2) Supervisors (all field supervisors for disaster response, recovery, support and volunteer; i.e.,
building inspection supervisor, public works supervisors, etc.)
Requirements:

ICS-100: “Introduction to ICS”
ICS-200: “Basic ICS”
3) Middle Management (Division/group leaders, branch directors; i.e. staff overseeing an
Emergency Support Function (ESF))

FEMA IS-800: “National Response Plan, An Introduction”
ICS-100: “Introduction to ICS”
ICS-200: “Basic ICS”
ICS-300: “Intermediate ICS” (FY07 Requirement)
4) Command and General Staff (Select managers with multi-agency coordination; i.e., EOC
Command Staff and Section Chiefs)
Requirements:
