Traffic accident on I-526 sends Truck Driver to MUSC in Critical Condition
Rescue Squad, along with Charleston Fire and EMS responded to a traffic accident involving two dump trucks and several cars, after a car coming onto the on-ramp cut off one truck who swerved to avoid running over the small convertible car sending his own truck into another truck.  Both trucks ended up in the medium and the truck driver severely trapped in his mangled cab.

Rescue and Fire responders worked for almost an hour using numerous cutters, spreaders and over eight rams of various lengths, as well as Rescue Squads “Heavy Rescue” units crane  to remove the cab from around the driver.
